Instructions: 1) Type the Sample Data Set #1 into an Excel Spreadsheet.

2) Highlight the data and click on the "Chart Wizard" button.
3) Choose the "XY (Scatter)" chart type.
4) Click "Finish".
5) Now, click on one of your data points in the chart.
6) Then Right-Click and choose "Add Trendline..." from the Right-Click Menu.
7) Click "OK". You now have the perfect Trendline courtesy of Excel.
8) Now, move your cursor over the Trendline and Right-Click.
9) Choose "Format Trendline..." from the menu.
10) Click the "Options" tab.
11) Check the "Display equation on chart" box at the bottom of the "Options" page.
12) Click "OK" and your Y = mX + b Slope•Intercept equation will appear on your graph. |
